Abstract

In this paper we discuss various aspects of dispensationalism in its progress from the early nineteen-hundredth century to the present days. Prominent features of dispensationalism are presented with researched theological arguments both supporting and attacking the theories. Two of these main features, namely the premillennial doctrine of the Second Coming and the distinction between Israel and the church, are given special emphases and are discussed at length.

Acknowledgments

Praise and glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, whose word "was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope" (Romans 15:4-6).

In His kindness and divine guidance, the Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to pursue graduate studies through correspondence with the Carolina University of Theology. Almost all the twelve theology courses have been effectively informative at the very least and, at the spiritual level, brought enlightments and encouragements through Biblical truths. I particularly thank Dr. Dennis Fox for his critique on the previously submitted version of this thesis.

Let me also use this opportunity to testify that I have written this thesis with a good conscience before God, with peace and gratefulness, not striving to please man but simply out of my duty to complete this final assignment with best efforts.

Finally, other than direct quotations from other books or unless otherwise stated, all Bible verses contained in this paper are taken from the New International Version of The Holy Bible.
